SKCAC’s Racial Equity and Social Justice Statement

SKCAC’s Racial Equity and Social Justice Statement

SKCAC Industries and Employment Services (SKCAC) commits to advance equity for all through our services of employment and community inclusion. We believe in racial equity and social justice for all, including people of color and disability who have been historically underserved, marginalized, and adversely affected by persistent poverty and inequality. We commit to affirmatively advancing equity, civil rights, race and social justice, and equal opportunity as the responsibility of all associated with SKCAC. Our commitment includes culturally responsive practices, equity-driven policies, inclusive processes and multicultural programs and services. We recognize disparities throughout American history have denied equal opportunity to
individuals and communities. Recognizing the costs of systemic racism, persistent poverty and other disparities, helps us to better understand the challenges faced and to take part in promoting and practicing racial equity and advancing equal opportunity for underserved communities, including people of color and disability. Equity of opportunity, dignity and respect are fundamental rights for all people and we will preserve these rights in our organization and our work. We recognize and commit to change the generations of discrimination and significant barriers faced by people of color and other marginalized groups, including disability. We have a commitment to removing implicit biases built into our systems that serve to perpetuate racial, social and disability inequalities. Diversity is a strength for our organization. Diverse perspectives allow us to make more informed and intelligent decisions and make us a better and stronger organization. Equity of opportunity, dignity and respect are fundamental rights for all people and we will preserve these rights in our organization and our work. In all our actions, we commit to protecting the fundamental rights for people with disabilities, people of color and other marginalized groups. We commit to removing implicit biases built into our systems that serve to perpetuate racial and disability inequalities and any form of social injustice. To uphold our commitment, SKCAC’s Board of Directors, Executive and Staff adopt
these principles in our decision making, operations, and services through opportunity, inclusion and empowerment. For those employed and associated with SKCAC Industries and Employment Services, this statement serves to inform, promote and expect your participation and agreement in these important values we have adopted.
